The Chevrolet Equinox is available with three powertrains. The base 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine produces 170 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. EFFICIENCY
The Chevrolet Equinox offers some of the best fuel economy in its class. The base 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine is rated for an EPA-estimated 26 city/32 highway mpg. No matter what engine the Ford Escape is equipped with, its fuel economy never compares to the Equinox. The base 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is rated for an EPA-estimated 21 city/29 highway mpg. The 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine earns up to 23 city/30 highway mpg. The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine is rated for 21 city/28 highway mpg.*
